Your body has 60,000 miles of blood vessels! Exercise, not only builds your lean muscle but also maintains your flexibility and joint mobility, which in turn allows for better blood flow. Blood flow is important as it delivers vital nutrients (oxygen, water and food) to all of your cells. Blood flow is also the key to quick recovery from most injuries, as white blood cells (leukocytes) aid in the healing process and are responsible for protecting us against allergens, germs and infections.
Exercise is vitally important at all stages of life. Research has proven that exercise is the key to longevity, better health and reduces the risk of chronic debilitating disease. If you don’t currently have a daily routine, consider light walking, riding a bike, swimming or anything that keeps your interest and work up from there.
