HCG and the California Kicker

While on the HCG diet your body is burning fat for fuel – which releases toxins. These toxins, if left unchecked, can cause water retention.  It is one of the reasons we recommend drinking ½ your body weight in ounces of water daily, to help keep your body flushed. Drinking your water, consuming organic apple cider vinegar, and putting chunks of lemon in your water are all things that can help with water retention. But, a new buzz on our Facebook page has been the California Kicker. What is that you ask?  It is a drink that theoretically aids your body in releasing toxins from your system.  The recipe is:

  • 8 oz of hot water
  • 1/2 lemon
  • a dash of cayenne pepper.
  • You can add some stevia to take the edge off.

The California Kicker may or may not work for you. If you are retaining water, try the lemon water and apple cider vinegar first. If those don’t work then give this a try.

  1. I went to a friends party the other night and she made this for me. I didnt know it had a name or a purpose. I was down half a pound the next day and 1.2 this morning. I say it really works.

    • If you are doing the California Kicker the recipe is above but for daily use we recommend 2 tbsp of ACV in 8 ounces of water. You can do that twice if you feel like you are bloated.
