HCG Foods: Fruits & Vegetables

Some of the HCG foods that we suggest that you eat during phase 2 of the diet are; fruits, vegetables, lean meats and some crackers.  Science has proven over and over again the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables… here’s another article to add to the stack!

Children who eat lots of fruits and vegetables lower their risk of having stiff arteries in young adulthood. Arterial stiffness is associated with atherosclerosis, which underlies heart disease. When arteries are stiff, the heart works harder to pump blood. Eating fewer vegetables in childhood is associated with higher pulse wave velocity as an adult. The association remains when adjusted for cardiovascular risk factors like high-density lipoprotein, (good cholesterol) and low-density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol). 1. Hi, I have been researching the HCG diet and have considered trying it out. However, I am a strict vegetarian….absolutely no flesh meat. I will eat a small amount of dairy (organic, pasture raised, humane certified) and some eggs with the same criteria. We do not use tofu or other soy alternatives due to a sensitivity to them and the current GMO status on most of the nations crops. I noticed that your plan is heavily weighted towards meat, so what would the alternative be for someone like me? I understand that many veggies contain protein but one would not be able to consume enough under your limits. Any suggestions?

    Thank you, Cheryl

    • There are some vegetarian recipes that you can use to help you on the protocol. We also allow eggs and cottage cheese as substitutes. Also – protein shakes are used by many of our vegetarian dieters.

  4. So I am just finishing my second day of fat loading. I start p2 tomorrow. I can’t seem to find where it says what I can eat. I know its 100 grams of lean meat and 100 grams of vegs at lunch and supper. Right? What I don’t know is what is the list of vegetables and fruits I can choose from. Also can I mix it up have more than one type of vegetables at one time. Can anyone send me this list. That’s.
