Water makes up around 85% of your brain, 80% of your blood, 70% of your lean muscle and about 80% of your body in general.

Why is this important?

Your body needs water to operate properly.  Everyday in my clinic, I work with dehydrated patients who complain of headaches, impaired concentration, fatigue, joint pain, muscles spasm, etc.  As I dig into their history, the number one common denominator is Lack Of Water!

Lack of water is the number one cause of daytime fatigue.  A 2% drop in body water can cause problems with short-term memory and/or impaired concentration.  Studies have shown that dehydration over a long period of time will weaken the bodies overall immune system making you more vulnerable to disease.  Studies have also shown that a decrease in water intake will increase fat deposits, while an increase in water intake will do just the opposite.

Water is necessary for proper digestion, nutrient absorption and transportation of carbohydrates and proteins into the bloodstream.  It helps remove toxins from the body and is a natural appetite suppressant.

Bottom-line, drink enough water everyday for better health.  I suggest half your body weight in ounces, daily.  8)
